Former McKinsey partner Ajay Gupta joins board of healthtech company
Ajay Gupta, a senior partner emeritus at McKinsey & Company, has joined the advisory board of Innovaccer, a San Francisco-based healthcare information technology company.
Gupta brings nearly 30 years of experience in healthcare sector consulting, with deep expertise in strategy, commercial and growth topics, mergers & acquisitions, performance improvement, and organization design.
Gupta will help Innovaccer’s leadership drive innovation and enhance its newly launched Innovaccer Health Cloud platform, according to a release from the firm. Founded in 2014, the company’s technology helps providers unify patient records while leveraging AI and analytics to automate workflows.
Innovaccer, which raised $105 million in a series D funding round in February, has had its solutions deployed across more than 1,000 locations in the US, unifying records for more than 24 million people.
“The power of integrated data and actionable insights has never been greater. Abhinav and the team at Innovaccer have built a terrific platform that will help the industry deliver greater value, and I look forward to supporting their journey," said Gupta.
Gupta previously spent 28 years at strategy firm McKinsey, serving as leader of the US Midwest healthcare practice and North American medical products practice. Before joining McKinsey in 1992, he spent five years at Schlumberger Wireline in oilfield services roles in Asia and Europe.
He has an MBA from Stanford University and a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi.
“With Ajay's support and guidance, Innovaccer is strongly positioned to power the future of health on the Innovaccer Health Cloud," said Abhinav Shashank, CEO at Innovaccer.
The healthtech company has more than 800 employees across the US and India, according to LinkedIn.
