Guidehouse names Dominica Groom Williams as diversity head
Guidehouse, a global management and technology consulting firm, has named Dominica Groom Williams as chief culture, inclusion, and diversity officer (CCIDO).
As CCIDO, Groom Williams will develop and implement a strategic plan to build a culture of inclusion and diversity, according to a release from Guidehouse. She will oversee programs to drive a work environment that creates awareness, supports an open exchange of ideas, and encourages a collaborative culture.
Groom Williams brings more than 15 years of human resources, diversity & inclusion, strategy development, and leadership experience. She joins Guidehouse from Freddie Mac, where she served as VP of the organization’s office on inclusive engagement since 2017. In the role, Groom Williams oversaw the government-backed mortgage company’s efforts in diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) and community engagement. Before that, she spent ten years at Marriott, where she was latterly senior director of global supplier diversity and sustainability.
Groom Williams holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan. She was named one of Black Enterprise's "Top Executives in Corporate Diversity" and one of the "Top 100 Women" in the state of Maryland by The Daily Record.
"We are committed to making Guidehouse an even more inclusive and diverse company with a distinctive, engaging culture. We are thrilled to have Dominica in this role leading our efforts, providing innovation and perspective, and contributing to our success as a member of the senior leadership team. She has the expertise, experience and passion needed to bring our strategic vision into practice," said Scott McIntyre, CEO of Guidehouse.
In the aftermath of anti-racism protests in 2020, consulting firms and businesses more widely have been creating chief diversity officer roles and accelerating their diversity programs. Recent chief diversity officer appointments include Jon Muñoz at Booz Allen, Dee McDougal at Capco US, Julie Coffman at Bain & Company, and Tracey Walker at RSM US.
"I am honored to be joining the Guidehouse family and its powerful mission. I look forward to playing a meaningful role in further evolving company culture, advancing DEI and impacting our communities globally," said Groom Williams.
Guidehouse, which has approximately 10,000 professionals globally, last month announced it is establishing a new state-of-the art headquarters in Tysons Corner, VA.
