Universal Engineering Sciences buys Nevada-based McGinley & Associates

Universal Engineering Sciences, an Orlando-headquartered engineering consultancy, has acquired McGinley & Associates, a Nevada-based environmental engineering and consulting firm.

McGinley & Associates has approximately 40 professionals across offices in Reno and Las Vegas. The firm provides consulting services in hydrogeology, geochemistry, air quality permitting, environmental site assessments, soil and groundwater investigations, site remediation, and spill prevention plans, among other areas.

The company has worked on some of the largest site remediation projects in Nevada, and has completed engagements across mining, industrials, and renewable energy. McGinley frequently works with the State of Nevada on environmental issues and projects.

Universal Engineering Sciences’ (UES) acquisition of McGinley will bolster the firm’s Nevada presence and give it an office in Reno. UES entered Nevada last year with the acquisition of Las Vegas-based Nova Geotechnical & Inspection Services.

The deal is part of an aggressive growth strategy that aims to more than triple UES’ revenues from $300 million to $1 billion through acquisitions and organic growth.

UES earlier this year acquired Tennessee-based GEOServices, Carolinas-based Summit Engineering, SoCal-based Construction Testing & Engineering, and Northern California-based Wallace-Kuhl & Associates.

The firm specializes in geotechnical engineering, construction materials testing, building code compliance, threshold inspections, and environmental consulting. UES works with public and private clients in a range of industries.

The company was founded in 1964 and has more than 2,150 employees in 48 offices across the US.
