Health Management Associates buys Edrington Health Consulting
Health Management Associates (HMA), a national healthcare research and consulting firm, has acquired Edrington Health Consulting (EHC), a Scottsdale, AZ-based healthcare actuarial and analysis firm.
Founded in 2014, EHC provides a range of data and analytics support services in Medicaid and Medicare, working with health plans, state agencies, providers, and other stakeholders. The firm’s services include actuarial and financial analysis and strategy, provider reimbursement and incentives, risk and efficiency analysis, and data warehousing and analytics.
The Arizona-based consulting firm has approximately nine employees.

EHC will operate as Edrington Health Consulting, An HMA Company. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

HMA was founded in 1985 and is headquartered in Lansing, MI. The firm specializes in advising on publicly funded healthcare and human services policy, programs, financing, and evaluation. The firm’s clients include government agencies, public and private providers, health systems, health plans, institutional investors, and foundations.
HMA's consulting services span analytics, behavioral health, clinical services, Covid-19 support, public health, delivery system redesign, government programs, healthcare IT, investment services, opioid crisis response, and long-term services and support.
The consultancy has more than 300 professionals across 22 offices in the United States.
HMA in September 2020 bought Burns & Associates, an Arizona-based health policy consulting firm.
