Accenture buys supply chain IT consultancy Blue Horseshoe
Accenture has acquired Blue Horseshoe, an Indianapolis area-based firm specializing in supply chain technology consulting.
Founded in 2001, Blue Horseshoe helps organizations integrate cloud-based solutions for supply chain management, enterprise resource planning, warehouse management, and transportation management. The firm supports clients across retail distribution, consumer packaged goods, food and beverage, and transportation and logistics with implementing, upgrading, and managing solutions from Microsoft Dynamics 365, Oracle Netsuite, and Manhattan.
The firm has completed more than 600 supply chain engagements across 27 countries. Blue Horseshoe has approximately 350 employees across offices in Carmel, IN; Broomfield, CO; Westerville, OH; and Charlotte, NC, and international offices in The Netherlands and Estonia.
Accenture’s acquisition of Blue Horseshoe will bolsters its supply chain & operations group and its capabilities in building connected and intelligent supply chains.“To be competitive, companies need to transform their supply chains to deliver the innovative and hyper-personalized products, services and experiences that are in high demand—and fulfillment is core to that transformation,” said Renato Scaff, Accenture’s supply chain & operations North America lead. “Blue Horseshoe’s deep fulfillment consulting experience and methodologies support Accenture’s vision for building customer-centric, resilient and responsible supply chains that benefit people, society, and the planet.”
The move continues Accenture’s investment drive in its cloud consulting capabilities.
The Dublin-based management and technology consultancy earlier this year acquired Symmetry Systems, a San Francisco-based cloud data security startup, and Imaginea, a Silicon Valley cloud-native product and platform engineering firm.
The firm’s other 2021 US acquisitions include management consultancy HRC Retail Advisory and change management consulting firm Future State.
Chris Cason, CEO of Blue Horseshoe, said, “As part of Accenture, we will bring increased scale and combined expertise to help clients put in place next generation supply chain and fulfillment strategies that meet customer expectations and support business growth.”
