Management and technology consultancy Slalom has opened its second North Carolina location with the launch of a new office in Raleigh.

The Seattle-based firm, which focuses on digital transformation projects, opened its Charlotte office in 2018. Slalom’s new Raleigh location already has 11 employees, and plans to hire as many as 50 people this year, according to a WRAL TechWire article.

Todd Christy, leader of Slalom’s Raleigh market, told the publication that the firm will serve the city’s strong tech and life sciences industries, as well as organizations in commercial manufacturing, the public sector, and higher education. Christy pointed to Raleigh’s depth of talent provided by local universities and the Research Triangle Park as a key element of the office launch.

Raleigh is also Glassdoor’s top-ranked Best City For Jobs, which measures how easy it is to get a job, how affordable it is to live in a city, and how satisfied employees are working there. Raleigh, like other top ranking cities such as Pittsburgh and Indianapolis, are growing tech hubs with a large number of open jobs and affordable housing prices compared to metropolises like NYC or San Francisco.

“We are aiming to attract the best and brightest talent Raleigh has to offer and salaries will reflect that,” he told WRAL TechWire.  “I think people will continue moving to Raleigh from high-density cities, and from a business standpoint, I’m very excited about that.”

The Raleigh office is located at 1 Glenwood Avenue, and currently has open positions for roles including sales executive, cloud data architect, and cloud engineer.

Slalom has accelerated its rapid organic growth in the last several years as demand for digital and technology consulting remains hot as ever. The firm has doubled in size from approximately 5,000 employees in 2018 to more than 10,000 today.

Slalom earlier this year announced a new office in Salt Lake City, with plans to hire 100 people by the end of 2025. The company also announced it would hire more than 200 people across its four Texas offices in 2021.

Slalom in 2020 expanded into New Jersey and Southern Connecticut. The firm has more than 40 offices across the US, Canada, UK, Australia, and Japan.
