Tuan Nguyen joins RSM US as economist
Tuan Nguyen, PhD, has joined accounting and consulting firm RSM US as an economist based in New York City.
Nguyen, who recently completed a doctorate in econometrics and quantitative economics at Northeastern University, will join RSM’s middle market economics team. Headed by chief economist Joe Brusuelas, the team provides research, insights and macroeconomic perspectives on the middle market – which spans businesses from $10 million to $1 billion in revenue and makes up 40% of the US economy.
RSM’s economists publish the firm's monthly “The Real Economy” report as well as the quarterly RSM US Middle Market Business Index, which measures the segment’s performance and business sentiments.
“As the influence of the middle market continues to grow, RSM continues to invest in our ability to deliver broader economic context and insights to help these middle market businesses succeed,” said Brusuelas. “Tuan’s addition to the RSM team is just one of the latest examples of how we continue to enhance our ability to meet the growing and ever-changing needs of our clients.”Nguyen researched and taught macroeconomics, international economics, and microeconomics theory at Northeastern University while completing his doctorate. He previously held a research intern role at CBRE in Hanoi, Vietnam, and was a marketing associate at fashion retailer JT Lane.
Nguyen also holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and international affairs from the University of New Hampshire.
“I am looking forward to helping RSM’s middle market clients succeed by providing deep, data-driven economic analysis and insights that will enhance their ability to compete in an increasingly competitive and global economy,” said Nguyen. “It’s exciting to contribute to the development of these meaningful and actionable pieces of thought leadership.”
RSM US has approximately 12,500 people nationwide who deliver audit, tax, and consulting services to clients in a wide variety of industries.
The firm earlier this month named John Behringer as leader of its financial institutions sector.
