Husqvarna taps GEP for procurement software
Husqvarna, a Sweden-based global manufacturer of forestry and gardening equipment, has selected GEP Smart – a leading procurement software platform – to optimize its North American operations.
Husqvarna is one of Sweden’s oldest manufacturing firms, with operations dating back to the 17th century. Initially a producer of muskets, Husqvarna would subsequently branch out into (and then sell off) numerous product divisions, including sewing machines, bicycles, and motorcycles. The Stockholm-based firm is currently one of the world’s largest producers of lawn mowers, garden tractors, and chainsaws, with plants worldwide and a global headcount of more than 13,000 workers.
Husqvarna’s North America supply chain organization will now use GEP Smart sourcing software to streamline its bid process and drive greater value.
GEP Smart is an AI-powered, cloud-native source-to-pay platform that helps large organizations drive efficiency, agility, visibility, and actionable intelligence into all procurement and purchasing functions. It is able to integrate with third-party and legacy systems such as SAP, Oracle, and other major ERP platforms. GEP Smart is built on Microsoft Azure.
GEP’s software division also includes GEP Nexxe, an end-to-end supply chain management platform.
Clark, NJ-based GEP also provides supply chain and procurement-focused managed services and consulting. Its consulting offering includes supply chain strategy and optimization, digital procurement transformation, supply risk management, and M&A services.
The firm was founded in 1999 and today has more than 5,000 professionals serving large corporates such as Walmart, Kellogg’s, Honda, and Chevron.
