FTI Consulting hires Cecily Gooch as managing director in Dallas
FTI Consulting has welcomed Cecily Gooch as a managing director in its corporate finance & restructuring segment. Gooch brings extensive strategic and legal expertise from the US energy and power sectors.
The Dallas-based professional will advise FTI clients on business transformation, corporate finance, restructuring, governance, regulatory and compliance, and investigations.
Gooch has more than 20 years of government, law firm, and in-house practice experience, with a specialization in leading companies through corporate transformations including M&A, business model change, and restructuring. She has advised management and boards on issues relating to litigation, transactions, compliance, and employment and compensation, among others. As in-house counsel, Gooch advised on one of the largest Chapter 11 restructurings in US history (TXU Energy/Energy Future Holdings).
She most recently spent three years at Vistra Energy, where she was associate general counsel, chief compliance officer, and corporate secretary. Before that, Gooch spent two years at Energy Future Holdings (formerly TXU), where she was special counsel of restructuring. Prior to that, she spent a decade at TXU, joining as senior counsel and rising to the role of general counsel and corporate secretary.Prior to her time in-house, Gooch was an associate in the regulated industries and government relations practice of law firm Hunton & Williams LLP. She began her career as an enforcement attorney in the litigation division of the Texas Commission of Environmental Quality.
Gooch holds a JD and bachelor of arts from The University of Texas at Austin.

The Washington, DC-based consulting firm earlier this month added cybersecurity expert Matt Chevraux as a managing director in the firm’s cybersecurity practice.
