Clarkston Consulting rebrands with new logo ahead of 30th anniversary
Clarkston Consulting, a national management consultancy, has introduced a new company logo and mark.
The Durham, NC-headquartered firm – a specialist in the life sciences, consumer goods, and retail industries – said the brand refresh will help it more accurately represent its clients, work, and people.
“Over the past three decades, our clients’ competitive realities have been disrupted time and again, and as they’ve evolved to meet those realities, so have we,” said Paul Garrison, president of Clarkston Consulting. “Just as we’ve grown new capabilities, learned new skills, and adopted new ways of working, we’re happy to evolve our business in a new way with this logo.”
The firm leaves behind its old logotype, which was an all-capitals, sans serif font with blue characters on a white background (or an inversion of those colors). The new logotype features serif, all lower-case characters for “clarkston” with a sans serif, all-capitals “CONSULTING” below. The logotype color has been changed to black (or white on dark backgrounds).
The firm’s prior logomark, a blue lightbulb utilized by its technology business, has been replaced with a multicolored ring. Clarkston says the colors represents its focus industries: life sciences (blue), consumer products (green), and retail (purple). “The overlapping segments of the new logo mark merge together to form a complete circle and embodies the blurring of the lines occurring in these industries,” the firm noted in a press release.
Clarkston’s other businesses, including Clarkston Technology Solutions, Clarkston Digital, and the Clarkston Executive Alliance, have also received new logos aligned with the brand refresh.
Founded in 1991, Clarkston helps its clients drive growth, improve operational efficiency, and implement new technology. The consulting firm has more than 400 people across five US offices.
New scholarship program
The firm last month announced a new scholarship program to create equitable access and opportunities for low-income, first-generation college students. A collaborative effort with the firm’s diversity council, the scholarship program will provide a financial award of $10,000 split over two academic years, mentorship and networking opportunities, and a potential internship with the consultancy.
Eligible applicants must be current college sophomores at Babson University, University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill, North Carolina State University, Georgia Tech, Agnes Scott College, Atlanta University Center, University of Michigan, University of Arizona, or Arizona State University. Applicants must also demonstrate alignment with Clarkston’s core values and have an interest in pursuing a career in life sciences, consumer products, retail, or consulting.
“The social justice movement in this country has highlighted a dire need to reevaluate how we help communities and people that have been underserved and under-represented. Part of that evaluation has to consider how we as businesses can contribute to bettering circumstances for the next generation,” said Tom Finegan, CEO of Clarkston.
Garrison added, “Beyond helping to address the realities of financing an education, this program is designed to equip students with skills, resources, and mentors that can help them navigate the world inside the classroom and beyond.”
The application period is now open, and scholarship winners will be announced in February 2022.
