New strategy consultancy launches: Pathfinder Consulting Group

Pathfinder Consulting Group, a boutique strategy and business consultancy launched by former McKinsey & Company partner Paul Harrington, is open for business.

The new veteran-owned small business (VOSB) aspires to consult leaders on some of their most pressing, boardroom challenges. For private sector organizations and governments, Pathfinder Consulting Group will focus on strategy, growth and technology modernization.

One major emphasis for the new consulting firm is helping companies establish or accelerate their growth, especially in the government and broader public sector market.

“The increasing attractiveness of government clients, along with promise of new investment (such as infrastructure) are attracting new companies, in turn increasing the sector’s competitive intensity. Whether a firm is new to the government market, seeking to expand or an established player, there are often opportunities to accelerate growth,” said Harrington.

To that end, Pathfinder Consulting Group offers services including: go to market public sector strategy (e.g. prioritizing markets, building/improving business development, market and competitive intelligence, capture and proposal management capabilities); and go to market operating model development (e.g. designing the optimal organization; hiring the ideal talent; building the enabling infrastructure to support a robust growth strategy).

Harrington brings 30 years of experience that include leading diverse global teams in multiple market contexts. Prior to launching Pathfinder, Harrington was a partner at McKinsey & Company, based in Washington, DC.

As part of the Global Public and Social Sector practice, he advised senior government and private sector executives, and led the firm’s Global Public Sector Go to Market (GTM) team. In addition to his client development leadership, he served large private sector and government clients on go to market strategy, procurement, organization, business process outsourcing, digital and talent topics.
