PA Consulting adds Nathan Wicker to launch turnaround offering
PA Consulting, a global innovation and transformation consultancy, has hired Nathan Wicker to launch a turnaround and restructuring offering within the firm’s energy and utilities practice.
Based in Dallas, Wicker is a seasoned corporate finance and strategy advisor who has executed more than 35 transactions and turnarounds totaling over $30 billion in value. He has worked with companies and creditors in a range of industries, with particular expertise in energy.
At PA Consulting, Wicker will serve as partner and US head of turnaround and restructuring, and will focus on supporting energy industry clients with turnaround and restructuring, M&A, and finance projects.
“Nathan joins at an exciting time in PA’s Energy and Utilities practice. We are rapidly expanding our capabilities across the sector with a host of senior hires and delivering work for clients that’s accelerating many of them towards their net zero ambitions,” Aris Karcanias, global head of PA Consulting’s energy and utilities practice, said.
The consulting firm earlier this year hired David Price and Andy McKenna as partners in the US energy and utilities practice, as well as Daniel Finn-Foley as a principal consultant.
“A number of environmental, regulatory, and economic pressures are having a significant impact on companies across the sector, so Nathan’s expertise in Turnaround and Restructuring will be a vital support to clients in difficult circumstances and help them craft a profitable, yet sustainable, path forward,” Karcanias added.
Wicker joins PA from RPA Advisors, a financial advisory and restructuring firm, where he spent nearly a decade as a managing director and leader of the energy practice. Prior to that, Wicker worked in the acquisitions and strategy group of Hilcorp Energy Company and in the energy investment banking group of Scotia Waterous.
He holds an MBA from Northwestern University and a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Michigan.
“I’m excited to join PA and help establish and scale up their Turnaround and Restructuring capability,” Wicker said. “The unmatched industry specific expertise, strategic know-how, and values of the individuals at PA will drive better and more efficient outcomes for firms in difficult situations and are a winning formula to establish a market leader in the US restructuring market.”
PA Consulting’s US energy and consulting team has in the last four years advised on the development, purchase, sale, or financing of more than $50 billion in clean energy infrastructure and over 30 projects related to the sale or purchase of utility and district energy businesses.
Founded in 1943 and headquartered in London, PA Consulting's 3,300 global professionals advise on strategy and operations, digital transformation, and product design and engineering, among other areas.
