IT consultancy Xebia announces expansion plans in US
Xebia, a Dutch-origin IT consulting firm, has announced plans to greatly expand its United States operations.
Founded in 2001, Xebia switched from organic growth to an aggressive M&A strategy last year amid growing demand for technology consulting services. The firm in 2021 bolted on five companies across Europe and India, adding approximately 1,300 people. The largest transaction was Poland-based PGS Software, which added 800 employees.
Xebia began this year with the acquisition of SwissQ, a Swiss IT consultancy with 120 people.
The flurry of deals have elevated the company’s global headcount to more than 3,000 staff across 19 offices in Europe, North America, and Asia-Pacific.
Xebia has plans to reach a $1 billion valuation by 2024 and expects to acquire six companies per year for the next two years to reach that goal.
A significant part of those growth plans is expanding Xebia’s footprint in the largest market for consulting – the United States. The IT consultancy currently has approximately 300 people across US offices in Atlanta and San Francisco. Xebia plans to more than triple its US headcount to 1,000 by 2024.
That expansion includes 200 new jobs in Atlanta by the end of the year, according to a report in the Atlanta Business Chronicle. The significant headcount increase in the city will necessitate a move to a larger office, which the company expects to complete in the next three months.
The Netherlands-based firm provides services in digital strategy, agile transformation, data and AI, DevOps, cloud, low-code, and Microsoft solutions to a wide range of industries. The company has worked with leading clients such as Disney, Tesco, Philips, and ING.
