Treacy & Company (T&Co), a Boston-based strategy consulting firm, has appointed Joshua Coleman managing partner as the firm charts new growth.

T&Co was founded in 2006 by Michael Treacy, a former professor of management science at MIT Sloan School of Management. The firm has expanded to more than 40 professionals across offices in Boston and Chicago who specialize in strategy, growth, and innovation engagements.

The boutique firm’s industry-agnostic experts work on projects in highly focused teams of typically one partner and three to five consultants in conjunction with key organizational stakeholders. T&Co’s offerings include growth strategy, innovation strategy, digital and analytics strategy, operating model design, M&A strategy, and revenue acceleration.

Coleman will take on the managing partner role as the company turns to a new partner-led operating model. T&Co is also aggressively hiring senior talent, according to a press release from the firm.

Coleman has more than 15 years of experience advising senior executives on growth and innovation. He joined the firm’s Chicago office in 2014 as a principal and was named a partner in 2018.

Before that, he spent eight years at Monitor Deloitte (formerly Monitor Group, the strategy consultancy founded by Harvard business professor Michael Porter). Coleman was latterly a senior manager and worked on strategy projects for clients in the healthcare and life sciences, industrials, and consumer industries.

He has a master’s degree in economics from The London School of Economics and a bachelor’s degree from Brown University.

"Josh has excelled as a partner, growing our firm's capabilities and delivering tremendous value to our clients as we help them gain a competitive advantage through discipline and innovation," said Treacy, who serves as chairman of T&Co. "He is an exemplary team member and driver of our culture. He has the right combination of consulting expertise, leadership ability, and collaboration skills to guide the next chapter in our growth as managing partner of the firm.”

Coleman added, “We're building something here at T&Co that is not quite like anything else I've seen in the consulting industry – that is why we exist and why our team is so passionate about what we do. We're contrarian, we're innovation-minded, and we're no-nonsense consultants.”
