FTI adds Meredith Brown and Wafik Guirgis as co-heads of legal operations
FTI Consulting has hired Meredith Brown and Wafik Guirgis as senior managing directors in the firm’s technology segment and co-leaders of the corporate legal operations practice.
Brown, who is based in Chicago, is an expert in advising legal departments on digital transformation. She has deep expertise devising and implementing end-to-end transformation solutions incorporating strategy, technology, people, and process improvement.
Brown joins FTI from UnitedLex, where she spent the last five years and most recently served as SVP of advisory, legal operations, and compliance. Before that, she was an associate in the law department management practice at Consilio and an analyst in the law department management practice of Huron Consulting Group.
She has a JD from Villanova University and a bachelor’s degree in economics from Bryn Mawr College.Guirgis, who is based in Roseland, NJ, brings more than two decades of experience advising corporate clients on legal operations, with expertise across strategic planning, technology evaluation, and large-scale implementations. He has helped companies automate processes, structure data across legal and enterprise solutions, and execute change management approaches to drive adoption.
He previously spent six years at HBR Consulting, a legal department advisory specialist firm, where he latterly headed the legal technology practice. Before that, Guirgis spent over seven years at Huron, where he was a senior director in the legal department management practice, and four years at Merrill Lynch, where he was VP of legal/technical operations.
He began his career in the legal solutions practices of PwC and Deloitte.
