Interview with Mike Corkery, chief executive officer of Deltek
Mike Corkery is president and CEO of Deltek, a global provider of enterprise solutions for project-based businesses. In an interview with CityBiz, Corkery discusses some of the firm’s key milestones over the last several years and his ambitions for 2022 and beyond.
Based in the Washington, DC area, Corkery has been with Deltek since early 2010, when he joined as chief financial officer. He previously held executive and senior financial positions at a variety of companies.
Since taking the reins as CEO in November 2012, Corkery has led Deltek though a period of strong growth, doubling the size of the company in the last ten years.
Deltek helps project-based businesses – such as accounting, consulting, engineering and technology firms, as well as government contractors – run and optimize their internal operations with enterprise resource planning (ERP) and professional services automation (PSA) software and applications. Among Deltek’s most well-known solutions are Costpoint, Maconomy, and Vantagepoint.
The firm has more than 30,000 customers globally and approximately 3,000 staff across the Americas, Europe, Asia, and Oceania.
In the 16-minute interview with CityBiz, Corkery walks though how Deltek’s solutions help clients makes their projects more successful, enabling them to achieve performance that maximizes productivity and revenue. He also reflects on some of the milestones achieved in the last several years that helped shape the company and its current growth path.
