The Claro Group adds trio of healthcare consulting specialists
The Claro Group, a national financial and economic advisory firm, has added a team of three healthcare consulting specialists: managing director Melissa Scott, director Jeannie O’Donnell, and director Nicole King.
The trio join Claro from B. Riley Advisory Services, a division of B. Riley Financial that delivers consulting in compliance and risk, forensics and litigation, restructuring, and M&A.
Scott, O’Donnell, and King bring deep advisory expertise in provider/payer reimbursement disputes, healthcare operations, internal audit, forensic analytics, regulatory compliance, investigations, and transactional reviews.
The trio will form the core of a new healthcare consulting team within Claro’s disputes and investigations practice, with Scott serving as leader.
Scott spent the last three years as a managing director at B. Riley. Before that, she spent nine years in the advisory services practice of Change Healthcare (formerly Sinaiko Healthcare Consulting), where she was latterly a managing director. She also previously held senior leadership roles in revenue cycle management at St. Luke’s Health System in Boise, ID; Bend Memorial Clinic in Bend, OR; and Oregon Health and Science University in Portland.
O’Donnell spent the last three years at B. Riley as an associate director. Before that she spent eight years at Change Healthcare, where she was latterly a consulting manager. She also previously held auditor roles at Geisinger Health System, Greater Columbia Behavioral Health, and Chan Healthcare Auditors (now Crowe).
King spent the last year-and-a-half at B. Riley as an assistant director, having previously spent four-and-a-half years at Change Healthcare as a senior program manager. Before that, she was director of revenue cycle at St. Luke’s and a data analyst at St. Alphonsus Medical Center.
“We’re very excited to welcome Melissa, Jeannie and Nicole to the Claro family,” said Matt Schwab, managing director. “Their arrival broadens our Disputes & Investigations practice in a very significant way. While many of us at Claro have been periodically involved in a variety of healthcare related matters, Melissa’s team brings a level of industry knowledge and expertise that attorneys and clients covet. Melissa, Jeannie and Nicole have a real passion for the work they do and will prove to be wonderful additions to Claro.”
Founded in 2005, Claro provides consulting in corporate finance and restructuring, fraud and investigations, and claims and disputes. The firm has more than 140 people across offices in Chicago, Washington, DC, Houston, and Los Angeles.
