Accenture names Jack Azagury as strategy and consulting head
Accenture has appointed Jack Azagury, a 26-year veteran of the management and technology consultancy, as group chief executive for strategy and consulting.
Effective June 1, Azagury will oversee the firm’s $15-billion strategy and consulting service, which encompasses industry, enterprise functions, applied intelligence, innovation, and corporate strategy practices. He succeeds Annette Rippert, who retires after 28 years at Accenture.
Rippert led strategy and consulting since 2020, overseeing the acquisition of more than 20 firms. Rippert previously led Accenture’s technology business in North America.
“I am tremendously grateful for all that Annette has done to help Accenture grow and lead over the past two-and-a-half decades and greatly appreciate her leadership and dedication in the challenging early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, steering our Strategy & Consulting team to growth and market impact,” said Julie Sweet, chair and CEO of Accenture.
Azagury brings deep strategy, technology, and client experience to the role as well as global perspective from working across the US, UK, France, and Japan. He has led engagements in large-scale business transformation, cost reduction, energy transition, M&A, and corporate and business unit strategy.
Azagury most recently served as market unit lead for the US Northeast, overseeing clients, people, offices, community involvement, and financial performance for a region with 10,000 Accenture employees.
Before that, Azagury oversaw the resources and utilities businesses in North America, served as global lead for the smart grid services business, and led the management consulting practice in North America.
He joined Accenture in 1996 in London and became a managing director in 2003. Prior to Accenture, Azagury was a product manager at software firm CA Technologies (now Broadcom).
“Jack is the right leader during this time of total enterprise reinvention as our leading Strategy & Consulting teams help our clients reinvent with data, technology and AI at the center so they can work differently, engage with their people and customers differently, and transform their business models,” Sweet said.
