EY promotes record 1,033 to partner
EY promoted a record 1,033 team members to partner across its global operations, effective July 1, 2022.
Women accounted for 32% of the Big Four firm’s promotions, staying relatively flat from a record-high 34% in last year’s partner class, which numbered 830 people.
The proportion of new partners in emerging markets also stayed flat, at 32% compared to 30% in 2021.

The allocation of promotions across service lines remained virtually unchanged from the previously partner class. Assurance accounted for the largest proportion of partner promotions with 344 (33%), followed by consulting, with 265 (26%); strategy and transactions, with 171 (16%); and tax, with 235 (23%). Additionally, there were 18 new partner promotions in business support (2%).
By geography, EY member firms in Europe, the Middle East, India, and Africa (EMEIA) had the largest proportion of new partners, at 41% (compared to 35% in 2021) followed by the Americas at 39% (versus 41% in 2021). New EY partners in Asia-Pacific accounted for 20% of the global class, down from 24% in 2021.

EY’s worldwide headcount across 150+ countries grew from approximately 300,000 to 312,250 in the last year.
