KPMG appoints Chris Cimino as San Francisco head, adds eight to tax practice
KPMG US announced the promotion of Chris Cimino to office managing partner for San Francisco, as well as the addition of eight partners and managing directors to the firm’s tax transformation offering.
Cimino will now oversee the San Francisco office’s strategic direction as well as the career development of 3,000 partners and professionals. He succeeds Lisa Daniels, who led the office for the last four years and will transition to a senior leadership role, a KPMG press release said.
“I want to personally thank Lisa for her countless contributions to the San Francisco office, especially her focus on client service and relationships, strengthening the KPMG brand in the San Francisco market,”
said Tandra Jackson, KPMG vice chair, growth and strategy.
“Chris Cimino brings more than 30 years of strong leadership and experience providing advisory and audit services to large global, domestic, and mid-market companies in technology, retail, life sciences and fintech industries,” Jackson said. “With his deep commitment to serving our clients and developing our people, I am confident he will be highly successful in his new role.”
Cimino joined KPMG’s LA office in 1994, spending five years in audit before joining the advisory practice, where he has focused on risk and compliance project delivery. Cimino joined the San Francisco office in 2002 and was named a partner in 2006.
He has a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Southern California.
“I am honored, and I look forward to working with our tremendous team of San Francisco partners and professionals to help our clients adapt and thrive in today’s ever-changing environment, whether driven by economic forces, changing customer patterns, disruptive technologies, or the rapidly-evolving regulatory environment,” said Cimino.
KPMG also announced the addition of eight partners and managing directors to its Tax Reimagined service offering, which helps companies transform their tax and finance operating models. As more clients look to outsource or co-source their tax departments, KPMG has committed $1 billion to tax and legal technology – including its Azure-based Digital Gateway platform which provides a real-time, holistic view of a company’s total tax and finance data.
