Andersen buys real estate specialist Rosen Consulting Group
Andersen, a San Francisco-headquartered tax consultancy, has acquired Rosen Consulting Group (RCG), a Berkeley, CA-based real estate and economic consulting firm.
RCG was founded in 1990 by chairman Ken Rosen, professor emeritus at the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley and chairman of the Fisher Center for Real Estate and Urban Economics. The firm provides strategic real estate consulting, investment analytics, market assessments, and forecasting services to banks, pension funds, private equity, REITs, and developers, among other clients.
RCG has 12 employees listed on LinkedIn.
“The addition of Rosen Consulting Group provides us with a best-in-class real estate consulting and economic group,” said Mark Vorsatz, Andersen Global chairman and Andersen CEO. “I have worked with Ken and the RCG team on many client opportunities and they deliver extraordinary insights that are critical in guiding investment decisions for our clients.”
As part of the deal, RCG partners Arthur Margon, Randall Sakamoto, and David Bank will join Andersen, bringing a combined 70+ years of real estate industry experience.
“We are incredibly optimistic about the future of RCG and Andersen under this arrangement which not only allows us to continue to provide strategic consulting to assist clients in guiding their investment decisions, but also to expand the scope of the support we provide clients through a highly complementary global service platform,” Rosen said.
Andersen was founded in 2002 as Wealth & Tax Advisory Services (WTAS) by former Arthur Andersen tax practice partners as a subsidiary of HSBC USA. In December 2007 a management buyout made WTAS an independent firm.
In 2013 the firm launched WTAS Global as an association of independent professional services firms. In 2014 WTAS changed its name to Andersen Tax LLC and WTAS Global became Andersen Global. Andersen Tax rebranded as Andersen in 2019.
Andersen today has approximately 1,500 professionals across 21 cities in the US. The firm provides tax, accounting, valuation, and private client services to individuals and companies.
Andersen Global has more than 12,000 professional worldwide and a presence in over 360 locations through its member and collaborating firms.
