Stout buys Davis & Hosfield Consulting
Stout, a global investment bank and advisory firm, has acquired Davis & Hosfield Consulting, a Chicago-based financial and economic consulting firm.
Founded in 2003, Davis & Hosfield helps companies and their attorneys analyze financial and economic issues involved in litigation. The firm’s professionals have provided damages analyses and testified as expert witnesses in hundreds of lawsuits relating to patent and trademark infringement, trade secret misappropriation, breach of contract, post-acquisition disputes, business valuations, and antitrust.
Davis & Hosfield has a team 17 people based in Chicago.
Stout’s acquisition of Davis & Hosfield will expand the firm’s expert testimony and consulting offering within its disputes, compliance, and investigations group.
As part of the transaction, co-founders and principals Julie Davis and Mark Hosfield will join Stout as managing directors. Melissa Bennis and Lynsey Honegger will also join as managing directors.
"Davis & Hosfield's decades of experience will make an impactful addition to our firm," said Mike Petron, president of the disputes, compliance, and investigations group at Stout. "From early case assessment through post-trial work, Davis & Hosfield has already built a reputation for efficient, client-centered work through the entire litigation lifecycle."
Stout was founded in 1991 and is headquartered in Chicago. The firm provides services in investment banking, transaction advisory, valuation advisory, and disputes, compliance, and investigations. Stout has more than 800 employees across 25 locations across the US, UK, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Singapore, and China.
"Our team is excited to join Stout's robust Disputes, Compliance, & Investigations group and deep bench of expert testifiers," said Davis. "The synergies between our companies, both from a technical and cultural standpoint, will allow us to deliver premium service to our clients."
Stout earlier this summer opened a new office in Charlotte, NC.
