Brian Becker ascends to CEO of RSM US

Brian Becker yesterday became managing partner and chief executive officer of RSM US, succeeding Joe Adams as part of a succession plan announced in November 2021.

Adams led the mid-market accounting and consulting firm since 2011 and will continue to serve in an advisory role focused on global strategy. He will also complete his term on RSM International’s board of directors, which ends in March 2023.

“We are grateful to Joe for his steadfast leadership and stewardship to RSM, and we are excited for Brian to lead us in the next phase of our journey,” said Jerry Martin, chair of the RSM US board of directors.

Becker has been RSM US’ national consulting leader since 2017, overseeing 4,500+ consultants spanning seven service lines and more than doubling practice revenues to $1 billion annually during his tenure. Before that, he served as the firm’s technology consulting leader.

Becker joined RSM in 1989 as a staff accountant and joined the consulting division in 1995 to build out the technology infrastructure service line.

He has a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Northern Iowa and is a certified public accountant.

RSM US has approximately 14,700 employees and is the fifth-largest accountancy in the United States, according to Accounting Today. The firm has $3.6 billion in annual revenue.

RSM earlier this year appointed Pat Vance to replace Brian Becker as head of consulting.
