Bober Markey Fedorovich adds Stephen Mazza as partner

Bober Markey Fedorovich (BMF), an Akron, OH-based accounting and consulting firm, has hired Stephen Mazza as a tax partner.

Mazza brings more than a decade of professional services experience, with expertise across tax strategies, trust and estate planning, business and family office consulting, and M&A.

Mazza previously spent ten years at Akron-based accountancy Apple Growth Partners, where he was a principal in the tax practice. He also previously spent a year as senior tax staff at Skoda Minotti (now Marcum).

Mazza has a bachelor’s degree in accounting from The University of Akron.“Steve brings a unique blend of technical accounting expertise with strong business strategy skills in ways that make a significant impact for his clients,” said Tod Wagner, partner-in-charge of the tax services group at BMF. “Steve will be a critical voice at the table working alongside our senior management team to create strategies to ensure our clients continue to thrive.”

BMF was founded in 1959 and provides services in audit and accounting, tax, valuation and transactions, cyber technology, and advisory. It has more than 115 employees across offices in Akron and Cleveland, according to LinkedIn.

BMF is the 195th-ranked firm on IPA’s list of the largest public accounting firms in the United States, with $22.1 million in annual revenue.

“It has always been my goal to have clients view me as an asset—and not an outside asset, but as though I was an internal employee, who adds value to their business,” said Mazza. “I would rather be in the client’s boardroom learning about their businesses and building relationships than focusing on last year’s sales figures. These conversations open the door to building deeper insights and understanding.”

BMF earlier this month announced 15 promotions across its Northeast Ohio team.
