BerryDunn opens Puerto Rico office
BerryDunn, a national accounting and consulting firm, has opened a new office in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
The Portland, ME-based firm says the office is part of its continuing expansion beyond the continental US, and signifies a long-term commitment to the island and its clients in Puerto Rico.
BerryDunn’s team has been operating in Puerto Rico since 2019. Reconstruction and development work in the aftermath of Hurricane Maria (including $20 billion in grants from the Department of Housing and Urban Development) has attracted an array of consultancies with domain expertise in infrastructure, economic development, and healthcare, among other areas.
BerryDunn’s work in Puerto Rico focuses on consulting services to government clients, including Medicaid agencies.
“As we begin to look at a growing number of team members supporting our work with Puerto Rico, it feels right to create a home base and offer the support the team needs,” Eduardo Daranyi, a principal in BerryDunn’s Medicaid practice group, said. “Our continued engagement with potential clients in Puerto Rico and additional US territories signifies we are there to stay and look forward to building client relationships that will last a long time, one of the main tenets of our firm.”
BerryDunn is the largest accountancy headquartered in New England. The firm has 800 employees across eight offices in Maine, Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Hampshire, West Virginia, and Arizona. Berry Dunn is the 49th largest accountancy in the US, according to IPA, with $118.09 billion in annual revenue.
“Our new location provides a model from which BerryDunn can continue to grow,” said Sarah Belliveau, CEO of BerryDunn. “As we grow to support our clients, we can deliver expertise across a diverse set of industries in both the for-profit and not-for-profit sectors."
