Baker Tilly enters Southwest with Henry+Horne acquisition
Baker Tilly has expanded into the US Southwest with the acquisition of Henry+Horne, a Tempe, AZ-based accounting and consulting firm. The deal is expected to complete on December 1, 2022.
Founded in 1957, Henry+Horne has 160 professionals across offices in Tempe, Casa Grande, and Scottsdale, Arizona. The full-service firm has practices in accounting and audit, business advisory, tax consulting and compliance, litigation and valuation, estates and trusts, and international services.
Henry+Horne posted $34 million in revenue in its most recent fiscal year.
The transaction will extend Baker Tilly’s presence into a booming Arizona market which – alongside Florida and Texas – is attracting technology and manufacturing firms fleeing higher-cost states like California and New York.
“The business activity happening in Arizona makes it a prime entry point to the Southwest and a natural extension of our west coast presence,” said Steve Milner, Baker Tilly regional managing partner for the Western US. “Henry+Horne is deeply engrained in the business momentum happening there.”
As part of the deal, Chuck Goodmiller, co-managing partner of Henry+Horne, will join Baker Tilly as managing partner for the Arizona market.

The move continues Baker Tilly’s strategic geographic expansion in the US. The Chicago-based firm in the last three years has acquired Squar Milner of California, The MFA Companies of Boston, and Bader Martin of Seattle.
Baker Tilly has more than 6,500 employees and is the 10th largest accounting and consulting firm in the US, with $1.31 billion in revenue in 2021.
