Cathal Walsh rejoins Guidepost Solutions as chief security officer
Cathal Walsh has rejoined Guidepost Solutions, a New York-headquartered investigations and compliance consultancy, as VP and chief security officer. He is based in New York.
Walsh brings more than 20 years of experience working in corporate security and for leading global security, risk management, intelligence, and investigation advisory firms.
In his new role at Guidepost, Walsh will provide C-suite executives, boards, and heads of security with strategic guidance in physical security and risk management matters.
Walsh spent the last four-and-a-half years as a VP at Deutsche Bank, where he led the company’s global corporate security strategy program. Walsh oversaw five global teams supporting offices in 58 countries and managed a multimillion-dollar budget focused on security systems, investigations, travel security, threat assessment, cybersecurity, and executive protection.
Between 2012 and 2018 he was a regional director in Guidepost’s security practice. His work included designing a security program for a large US real estate development project, advising pro sports teams on operational readiness and incident management response, implementing an asset protection program for a large commercial retailer, and providing executive protection services for high-net-worth clients.
Earlier in his career, Walsh spent over four years as a senior associate at Kroll and four years in the security department of Prudential Financial.
He has an MBA from Seton Hall University, a master’s degree in protection management from John Jay College of Criminal Justice, and a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from St. Thomas Aquinas College.
“Cathal has a proven track record of strong leadership within Guidepost providing security, investigative, and intelligence services to both the public and private sectors. I look forward to once again having the opportunity to work closely with him, working to develop and implement solutions for our clients,” said John Torres, president, security and technology consulting at Guidepost Solutions.
Founded in 2010, Guidepost delivers consulting services in domestic and international investigations, compliance solutions, monitoring, and security and technology. The firm has worked with 98 of the AmLaw 100 Firms and half of Fortune 20 companies.
Guidepost has more than 200 professionals across offices in over a dozen US locations, as well as international offices in Colombia, the UK, and Singapore.
