Matt Fish joins Stax as managing director
Matt Fish has joined the New York office of Stax, an M&A strategy consulting firm, as a managing director.
Fish brings more than 20 years of experience advising mid- and upper-mid-market private equity firms and industrial and business services companies on commercial due diligence and growth strategies.
"As we continue to bolster our senior leadership team and implement our planful growth strategy, which includes expanding our New York team, I am very excited to welcome Matt to Stax," said Jayson Traxler, president. "At this critical time during Stax's growth, Matt's leadership in scaling teams will be vital as we strive to meet increased client demand across the private equity investment landscape."
Fish joins Stax from KPMG US, where he spent the last two years as a partner and commercial due diligence practice leader. Before that, he was a partner and global leader of B2B products and services at OC&C Strategy Consultants.
Fish also previously spent six years at EY-Parthenon/The Parthenon Group. Prior to the firm’s acquisition by EY, he was a partner and head of China operations, afterwards relocating to the Los Angeles office. Prior to that, Fish founded and ran New Pacific Consulting, a commercial due diligence and growth strategy firm based in Shanghai, which was acquired by Parthenon.
He began his career at market research firm Synovate (now Ipsos), where he was head of business consulting.
Fish has a bachelor’s degree in East Asian Studies from Wittenberg University.
"Having known Stax leadership for 15 years, it has been awesome to watch the firm achieve a truly unique position in private equity and correspondingly a distinctive offering for consultants," Fish said. "In today's market, Stax is the most effective advisor to upper mid-market investors, can efficiently stand up a team spanning the globe, and offers consultants a team experience that genuinely stands out from our peers."
Stax provides corporate and private equity clients with consulting in commercial due diligence, value creation, and exit planning. The firm has more than 300 employees across locations in Boston, Chicago, New York, and Sri Lanka.
Stax has industry expertise in a broad range of industries including software/technology, healthcare, business services, industrial, consumer/retail, and education.
The consultancy in November added Vince Zosa as a managing director in its Boston headquarters.
