Data consultancy Factor hires Gwen Hall as CEO
Factor, a Seattle-based information architecture consulting firm, has hired Gwen Hall as its first CEO on the occasion of its 10th anniversary.
Hall brings more than 25 years of consulting experience to Factor, where she will assume the leadership reins from founders Bram Wessel and Gary Carlson. Wessel and Carlson will now focus on “creating a definitive methodology and practice, and developing the next generation of Factor leaders,” said a press release from the firm.
In her new role, Hall will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic growth and new brand building initiatives as the firm enters its second decade.
Hall joins Factor from Point B, a Seattle-headquartered management consultancy, where she spent 20 years and was latterly customer executive for the life sciences sector, overseeing growth and delivery.
Earlier in her tenure at Point B, Hall was director of sales and marketing operations as well as recruiting operations for the Seattle market.
She began her career at Andersen Consulting (now Accenture), where she was a senior consultant. Hall has a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Seattle University.
“As we have grown and are celebrating our 10-year anniversary, it became clear that we needed an established leader with a proven track record of growth and innovation, as well as someone with an abundance of genuine empathy–a natural understanding of human information experiences,” Wessel and Carlson said.
Factor was founded in 2013 and has 37 employees listed on LinkedIn. The firm uses a human-centered design approach to help mid-size and Fortune 500 clients extract value from their data, content, and information. Factor’s consultants advise clients on digital challenges in search optimization, knowledge management, marketing automation, advanced analytics, findability, and personalization.
The firm’s offerings span foundational assessments, information architecture and modeling, taxonomy building, user research, governance planning and training, and implementation support.
“I was attracted to Factor’s focus on data to transform an organization. In the era of Digital Transformation their capabilities are essential to the success of our clients. Also, their emphasis on quality delivery and their employees was a corporate culture that I was seeking,” said Hall. “I’m grateful for Bram and Gary’s trust, and for the warm welcome I received from the entire Factor team.”
