RSM buys HCM technology specialist Wise Consulting

RSM US has acquired Wise Consulting, a Baltimore-based human capital management (HCM) technology consulting firm, effective May 1, 2023.

Founded in 1996 by Jennifer Wise, the firm helps clients implement UKG and Ceridian HCM solutions, and provides ongoing payroll services.

The acquisition will enable RSM to provide integrated, holistic workforce solutions to mid-market clients. RSM’s human capital services practice has offerings in HR transformation, outsourcing, HCM transformation, workforce transformation, and employee experience.

As part of the transaction, Wise Consulting CEO Steve Grem will join RSM alongside practice leaders Jennifer Southworth, Marta Williams, and Lorry Twisdale and their team of more than 100 human capital technology implementation and support consultants, payroll service providers, and support staff.

Wise Consulting will operate as a wholly owned independent operating subsidiary of RSM until transitioning to RSM’s systems in late fall 2023.

RSM in June 2022 acquired Andculture, a Harrisburg, PA-based marketing firm, in order to create a new “human-centred design practice” within the Chicago-headquartered mid-market accountancy.

Martinwolf, the M&A consulting firm that advised on the Andculture deal, also advised RSM on the Wise Consulting transaction.
