Renovus Capital-backed HBR Consulting, LAC Group, and Wilson Allen have announced the executive leadership team for a new, combined consulting firm catering to the legal sector.

Renovus Capital, a Philadelphia-based private equity firm focusing on the knowledge sector, acquired LAC Group and Wilson Allen in July 2022, and then acquired the consulting division of Chicago-based HBR Consulting in November 2022.

HBR Consulting focuses on strategic advisory, implementation, and managed services for large law firms and corporate law departments. LAC is a provider of legal research, information management, and competitive intelligence solutions. Wilson Allen is an IT consultancy focusing on legal sector enterprise technology transformation, with capabilities in financial, risk, and marketing systems; cloud migration; data management and integration; and business process automation.

The combined firm will have over 600 employees across North America and Europe serving over 80% of the Global 200 law firms and nearly half of Fortune 500 companies.

The organization will continue to go to market under the three existing brands, with a new brand launch planned later this year.

“Clients told us they want a broader scope of services, and we listened. Standing alone, each one of our companies leads in their market segments,” said Matt Sunderman, former CEO of HBR and new CEO of the combined organization. “Together, our experienced, globally integrated team of strategists, technologists, and specialists offers a unique combination of seasoned advice, insights, deep resources, and execution muscle to help our clients accelerate their most important initiatives.”

Joining Sunderman in the executive leadership team are:
