HKA adds partner Mark Genenbacher, six new team members in North America
HKA, a global risk and disputes consulting firm, has hired Mark Genenbacher as a Houston-based partner in its construction claims group. The firm also announced the hiring of six new team members across its North American offices.
Genenbacher brings more than 20 years of experience in the engineering and construction industry, with a focus on project and construction management and project controls. He has expertise in cost estimation, earned value analysis, schedule preparation, delay analysis, productivity analysis, construction claims consultancy and preparation, and change order management and analysis.
Genenbacher has taken part in numerous mediations and testified as an expert in domestic arbitrations and trials.
He previously held lead and managerial positions as a project controls engineer, project scheduler, senior consultant, and budget analyst at Synergen Consulting, Aker Solutions (former Kvaerner), Sacramento Regional Transit District, and Zachary Industrial.
Genenbacher has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from California State University, Chico.

Wintress Cloud (senior associate consultant, Houston, TX) has seven years of construction industry experience, with a focus on applying work packaging methodologies and project controls to complex capital projects.
She previously was a planning and scheduling engineer at MasTec Industrial, a project planner at Worley, and a workface planner at Jacobs. Cloud has a bachelor’s degree in construction management from the University of Houston.
Melissa Kiser (implementation consultant, Las Vegas, NV) has 10 years of experience in the aviation industry, specializing in project controls systems administration. She previously spent a decade at Columbus Regional Airport Authority, where she was latterly a manager.
Kiser has a bachelor’s degree from The Ohio State University.
Cathy Le (executive assistant Philadelphia, PA) previously spent 15 years at retail group URBN, including 10 years as a senior administrator/executive assistant. She also spent five years as a senior coordinator in the supply chain and procurement function.
Le has a bachelor’s degree from Temple University.
Lukas Leuthold (manager, San Francisco, CA) has spent more than a decade in professional services, with experience in audit, accounting, and business development consulting. He most recently worked in external financial audit at Moss Adams and SD Mayer & Associates. Before that, he was a real estate portfolio accountant at Silicon Valley Real Ventures.
Earlier in his career, Leuthold was a business development consultant at Globaltech Bridge and a market entry consultant at HUBSV. He has a bachelor’s degree from Haverford College and is a certified fraud examiner.
Alexia Levesque (associate consultant, Montreal, Canada) rejoins HKA as a full-time employee after completing an internship last fall. She recently completed a bachelor’s degree in construction engineering at École de technologie supérieure (ÉTS) in Montreal.
Erin Sheth (senior associate consultant, New York, NY) has over seven years of experience in forensic accounting and litigation consulting, and has worked on matters in business interruption, fraud investigations, and FCPA investigations.
She was previously a senior consultant at FTI Consulting and LECG. Sheth has a master’s degree in archaeology from the University of Cincinnati and a bachelor’s degree in archaeology from Baylor University, and is a certified fraud examiner.
