Raft wins prime contract with Air Force Cyber Operations
Raft, a Reston, VA-based digital consulting firm, has been awarded a prime contract to develop a software factory for the US Air Force’s Cyber Operations (AFcyber).
A software factory (SWF) is collection of software assets that help produce applications or software components through a defined assembly process. The approach creates a repeatable and well-defined path to create and update software, and mimics the benefits of traditional manufacturing.
The SWF will focus on offensive cyber operations and will leverage the DoD’s Platform One – a modern and secure Kubernetes platform for hosting microservices – as the technical baseline. Raft will design, develop, integrate, and scale the SWF, which will operate in multiple cloud environments at various classification levels."Raft has a long-standing partnership with AFCYBER, and we are thrilled to expand this relationship with the Offensive Cyber Operations," said Shubhi Mishra, founder and CEO of Raft.
Raft was founded in 2018 and has approximately 250 employees. The firm specializes in government sector software, data, and AI solutions – partnering with DoD agencies on projects in digital modernization, legacy system data integration, and mission assurance.
Raft has supported clients including the US Air Force, US Space Force, and US Special Operations Command with transforming mission workflows and modernizing legacy applications and data systems.
“Enabling AFCYBER is not just a commitment to the mission, it is a declaration of unwavering dedication to our nation's defense in both physical and digital domains," Jake Buikema, Raft's CGO, said.
