Former Uber CFO Francois Chadwick rejoins KPMG
Francois Chadwick, former acting CFO and CTO at Uber, has rejoined KPMG US as leader of the “emerging giants” group in the private enterprise practice.
Chadwick – who has more than 30 years of finance, tax, and accounting experience – will focus on growing KPMG's services across all business lines to venture capital and private equity-backed enterprises. He will work closely with Brad Sprong, tax leader in the private enterprise practice.
Based in San Francisco, Chadwick rejoins KPMG from Shield AI, a defense technology firm focusing on AI aircraft pilots, where he spent the last year as CFO. Before that, he spent five years at rideshare giant Uber, where he was acting CFO, acting CTO, and global head of tax and accounting. During his tenure, Chadwick grew the finance team from zero to 1,100 people, launched finance and accounting operations in 100 countries, and took the company public.
Before that, Chadwick spent 15 years with KPMG, latterly serving as a partner and national tax leader in the emerging growth practice, where he worked with hyper-growth tech companies – including future employer Uber. He led teams in engagements on international, federal, and state tax compliance and planning; tax credits; transfer pricing; and transaction advisory for tax, among other areas.
Chadwick was also previously a tax partner at BDO and a senior manager at PwC.
He holds a bachelor of laws degree from Liverpool John Moores University, UK and a CPA certification.
