Amanda Elkin and Brooke McDonald join Sustainserv's Boston office

Amanda Elkin and Brooke McDonald have joined the Boston office of Sustainserv, a Zurich-based ESG (environmental, social, and governance) consultancy.

Elkin, who joins the firm as a senior consultant, brings more than 25 years of communications and publishing experience, with expertise working with nonprofits, businesses, consultancies, and community organizations.

Elkin has previously worked with Sustainserv as an editor supporting the completion of client sustainability reports. She spent the last eight years at Family Promise Metrowest, a Boston-area homelessness charity, where she was latterly director of communications and marketing.

Before that, Elkin was a communications and outreach manager at Energy Fitness and a manuscript editor at Harvard Business School Press.

She has a master’s degree in environmental studies from Antioch University New England and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Oberlin College.

She previously completed an internship at Boston College Center for Corporate Citizenship, which focuses on corporate ESG issues.

Sustainserv also welcomed three new consultant hires in its Zurich and Frankfurt offices: Judith Bisig (Zurich); Fabian Haumann (Zurich); and Nicole Schäfer (Frankfurt).

The consultancy was founded in 2001 by scientists and academics Bernd Kasemir, Matthew Gardner, and Stephan Lienin. Sustainserv has today grown to 25 consultants across offices in Zurich, Frankfurt, Boston, and Nashville.

The firm provides services in ESG strategy, implementation and monitoring, and reporting and communication.
