HKA welcomes team of four claims consulting professionals to Seattle office
HKA, a global risk and disputes consulting firm, has added a team of four professionals to its claims consulting practice in Seattle: Jeffrey Lounsberry, Brett Swanson, Jon Maus, and Jessica Gates.
The team joins HKA from MWL Advisory, a boutique Seattle-based firm providing advisory services in economic damages, forensic investigations, and expert testimony.
Jeffrey Lounsberry (partner) brings more than 24 years of experience in economic and financial damages analysis related to construction claims, construction project audits, and commercial disputes. He has advised clients through settlement negotiations and mediations, and has provided deposition, arbitration, and trial testimony.
Lounsberry spent the last nine years at MWL, where he was a principal. Before that, he was a managing consultant at Navigant (now Guidehouse) and a manager at Tucker Alan.
He has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Washington and is a certified management accountant (CMA) and certified construction auditor (CCA).
Brett Swanson (director) has over 15 years of professional services experience with a focus on contract cost audits and construction claims analysis. He has deep expertise reviewing and analyzing labor, equipment, subcontractor, materials, and job site and home office overhead cost documentation.
Swanson previously spent nine years at MWL, where he was latterly senior director of construction audit. Before that, he was a managing consultant at MRW Advisory and a senior consultant at Navigant.
Swanson has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Washington and holds CMA and CCA certifications.
Jon Maus (manager) specializes in contract auditing, forensic accounting, and business litigation consulting. He was at MWL since 2009 and most recently was a managing consultant.
He has a bachelor’s degree from the Art Institute of Seattle and a CCA certification.
Jessica Gates (senior associate consultant) has experience assisting on claims analysis and contract audits across numerous engagements. She joined MWL in 2021 and most recently was a senior consultant.
Gates has a bachelor’s degree in politics, philosophy, and economics from the University of Washington.
