Ramboll is launching its management consulting division in the US with a focus on delivering integrated sustainability transformation driven by science, engineering, and economics.

We seek an experienced Economics and Finance leader with the passion, experience, and vision to help drive our strategic sustainability consulting business.

Ramboll already delivers a broad range of sustainability services in the environment & health, water, energy, and manufacturing markets. At this exciting and disruptive time for the US economy, our clients are seeking Ramboll’s guidance and leadership in decarbonization, transition to a low-carbon economy, etc. We are seeking a lead consultant to lead, establish and grow this workstream and teams. To succeed in this role, you must have a proven track record as an experienced management consultant with an emphasis upon economics & finance with in-depth knowledge and insight into the economic and financial challenges facing industry & manufacturing, utilities and property with respect to their sustainability and decarbonization transition. You will bring expertise in the following sustainable finance areas – ESG, TCFD, climate bonds, Net Zero, etc. – as well as have a deep understanding of US regulation and experience of engaging directly with policy development in private or public sector environments.

You will join our Strategic Sustainability Consulting division in Ramboll Management Consulting 

As our lead consultant for sustainable economics & finance you will contribute to the development of Ramboll’s Strategic Sustainability Consulting. You will be responsible for the development of Ramboll’s sustainable economics & finance services in the US market as well as play an important role in developing sustainability service across our US divisions including energy, water, and environment & health.  

Key responsibilities of the Sustainable Economics & Finance Lead Consultant will include but are not limited to:

• Lead development of our vision, strategy, and sector focus in all elements of sustainable finance and economics
• Take overall responsibility for developing sales pipeline, delivering services, and growing revenue based upon agreed targets within the scope of sustainable economics and finance
• Establish a strong economics & finance capability that allows Ramboll to demonstrate the value of sustainability solutions to clients, capturing cost reduction, market growth, risk reduction and incentives into financial analytics
• Act as lead advisor and project manager for consultancy projects across a variety of sectors with a focus upon, for example, low carbon economy transition, energy market analysis, and low carbon options assessment
• Contribute to and lead projects in relation to the development of low carbon and net zero strategies with responsibility for economic modeling, cost benefit analysis and financial scenario assessment
• Collaborate with Ramboll’s engineering and project management experts in deploying sustainability finance and economic impact analysis as a differentiator for projects involving, for example, energy and water
• Drive innovation and thought leadership within sustainable economics & finance within key sectors (e.g. industry & manufacturing, utilities and property) to stay ahead of client needs
• Assist our clients in accessing green finance and provide guidance on all aspects of compliance and criteria
• Provide business value selling at the top levels of client organizations, raising the profile of Ramboll’s capabilities within key client organizations, to identify and shape clients’ needs for both strategic sustainability consulting
• Lead consulting engagements across a range of ESG advisory and sustainable finance projects as well as on transition risk in line with TCFD and other relevant standards and disclosures

Your starting point for constant growth

From the moment you join Ramboll, we will support your personal and professional development so that you grow with the company. For this role, we believe your starting point is:

• MSc or MBA in Business Administration, Economics, Finance or similar. Qualifications in sustainability in addition will be an advantage
• Min 10 years as management consultant with at least 5 years specialised in sustainable economics & finance
• Management consulting background with proven track record of project management roles in strategy and/or operational efficiency & transformational projects with large private and/or public sector clients
• In-depth experience of climate finance, TCFD, and ESG
• Expertise in economic impact assessment & evaluation, assessing feasibility and the potential of proposed solutions
• Deep knowledge of traditional and new financing mechanisms, impact finance, funding and finance for environmental and social innovation
• Experience presenting and engaging at decision making level within client organizations with documented sales experience and client account development
• Projects/ services qualifications in sustainability: sustainability strategy & transformation, climate resilience & decarbonisation, circular economy innovation & business models, business case on sustainability investments, sustainable value chain management, sustainability reporting and performance (indicators and KPIs)
• It is also preferred you have experience within all or some of the following sectors: Utilities & asset owners, industry & manufacturing, energy transition & renewable energy, high tech.
