Praecipio appoints Chris Lewis as CEO
Praecipio, an Austin-based IT and business process consulting firm, has hired Chris Lewis as chief executive officer.
Lewis brings more than 25 years of consulting and industry experience in information technology. He joins the firm from AWS, where he spent the last year-and-a-half as senior delivery practice manager. In the role, he led a team of consultants in architecting IT transformations for the cloud computing market leader.
Before that, Lewis was general manager of the commercial business unit at Cognizant Microsoft Business Group and chief operating officer of 10th Magnitude, an IT consultancy that was acquired by Cognizant in 2020.
He also spent six years with Point B, where he was a senior director, and five years with law firm SNR Denton, where he was global manager for software services.
Lewis began his career with Accenture/Avanade, where he was latterly a program manager for Microsoft .NET solutions and infrastructure transformation.
He has a master’s degree in industrial and organizational psychology from Grand Canyon University and a bachelor’s degree in business from Indiana University.
“Lewis has a proven track record of creating forward-thinking strategies that propel technology organizations ahead,” said Allison Flaten, chief people officer at Praecipio. “We are confident he is the right person to take Praecipio into its next phase of growth, with a strong focus on leading with innovation, commitment to our people, and core values.”
Praecipio became a portfolio company of Periscope Equity in 2021. The consultancy last year bolted on Gurnet Consulting and Avant Systems Group.
“I am truly honored to join Praecipio at such a pivotal moment for the company,” Lewis said. “I look forward to working closely with our exceptional team and our best-in-class partners. Together, we will remain laser-focused on serving our customers and building a strong culture while reimagining the industry of tech consulting.”
