Callahan & Associates acquires CU Strategic Planning
Callahan & Associates, a Washington, DC-based research and consulting firm specializing in credit unions, has acquired CU Strategic Planning, a Tacoma, WA-based provider of business planning services for credit unions.
Founded in 2008, CU Strategic Planning delivers services in Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFI) certification, grant writing, and compliance. The boutique firm has secured and managed compliance for $945 million in US Treasury CDFI grants and related award funding for credit union clients.
As part of the transaction, the consultancy will become “CU Strategic Planning, a Callahan Company,” with Stacy Augustine, former CEO and owner, serving as president. CU will retain all 35 of its employees “to maintain seamless operations,” Callahan said in a press release.
“Joining forces with CU Strategic Planning just feels right,” said Jon Jeffreys, CEO of Callahan & Associates. “I’m so excited to see the impact we can have on the industry together. Moving forward as one organization, we are even better positioned to serve our credit unions, while driving growth and positive change within the movement.”
Callahan was founded in 1985 and has 55 employees. The firm provides over 4,000 credit unions and industry suppliers with data, actionable insights, benchmarking tools, and consulting to help them achieve their strategic goals.
“Callahan’s products and services have been transformational for us and our clients,” Augustine said. “We are beyond excited about the opportunities this alliance brings and look forward to delivering even greater value to our credit unions, together.”
