Sean Trahan joins Alvarez & Marsal Tax as managing director
Sean Trahan has joined Alvarez & Marsal Tax, the tax services affiliate of consulting firm Alvarez & Marsal (A&M), as a managing director based in New York.
Trahan is a transfer pricing and supply chain expert with over two decades of Big Four experience. He specializes in IP planning, controversy management, and value chain optimization – including operating model design, transfer pricing, direct and indirect taxes, customs, and systems implementation.
Trahan has negotiated advanced pricing agreements (APA) and mutual agreement procedure (MAP) cases with tax authorities across the Americas, Asia, Europe, and Africa, and has worked with clients in consumer products, technology, media and entertainment, healthcare, and industrial manufacturing.
“Sean’s joining furthers our very deliberate plans to continue to add talent and leaders that enable us to meet our clients’ most pressing objectives. From business operations and risk management to more complex supply chain design, sophisticated jurisdictional considerations or IP planning for multi-nationals, we are focused on savings and impact. Our Transfer Pricing team coupled with our International Tax Services professionals make for a formidable partnership to serve the market,” said Ernesto Perez, global practice leader of A&M Tax.
Trahan joins A&M from EY, where he spent 22 years and most recently was a partner in the transfer pricing and supply chain practice in New York. Before that, he was based in the firm’s London office, where he led the US transfer pricing and supply chain desk for the EMEIA region.
Trahan has a juris doctor from Mitchell Hamline School of Law and a bachelor’s degree in international business from St. Cloud State University.
“A&M’s integrated platform and legacy of operational excellence provides the perfect springboard to help clients solve complex transfer pricing problems,” Trahan said. “The firm’s collaborative culture and results-oriented mindset ensures that clients understand how much we care while simultaneously focusing on driving results.”
A&M Tax recently welcomed Minah Hall and Adam Uttley as managing directors.
