Davies acquires US loss adjuster Barker Claim Services
Global professional services group Davies has acquired Barker Claim Services, expanding its claims capabilities in the US market.
With headquarters in North Carolina, and further regional coverage to clients in the states of Virginia, South Carolina and Northeast Tennessee, Barker Claim Services provides professional claims handling and loss adjusting expertise predominantly across property, casualty and motor claims.
The addition of Barker Claim Services will expand the claims capabilities of Davies across the four states, providing the firm with an enlarged national footprint, said Dan Saulter, CEO of Davies. “I’d like to extend a warm welcome to the team at Barker Claim Services. They have an excellent reputation for maintaining strong relationships with their clients and delivering an exceptional level of service with local expertise.”
Davies now claims that its loss adjusting business (a loss adjuster is an expert who investigates claims on behalf of insurance companies) has a footprint in all 50 states and parts of Canada. The claims capability team offers services across the Property & Casualty, Life & Health, Transportation, Energy and Marine insurance markets.
Alongside claims services, Davies also supports its clients in areas such as management consulting, captive management, forensic accounting, auditing, actuarial, subrogation, and risk management. The firm has over 8,500 staff around the world.
Commenting on the joining of forces with the global player, Brian Barker, President of Barker Claim Services said: “I’m delighted that Barker Claim Services is joining Davies. Combining our regional expertise with Davies’ strong market presence and end-to-end insurance & risk management solutions will allow us to offer clients a bespoke service operation and strengthen our overall proposition.”
Earlier this year, Davies acquired Minuteman Adjusters, a third-party administrator serving global insurance carriers and Lloyd’s syndicate insurers across the US, and Matson, Driscoll & Damico (MDD), an international forensic accounting and advisory firm.
