Segal, a New York-headquartered benefits and HR consulting firm, has acquired Intactic, a San Francisco-based employee communications consulting firm.

Founded in 2014, Intactic has extensive expertise in internal communications, employee experience, digital workplace, brand activation, culture transformation, and behavior change. The firm has nine team members, according to its website.

Segal will roll the firm into its communications consulting practice, Segal Benz, where they will help employers communicate more clearly and empathetically with their employees.

“In the wake of recent and expected layoffs, an uncertain economy, and return-to-office mandates, many employees feel disconnected, disrupted, and destabilized, and this acquisition can enhance the customized support we provide to clients,” said Jenny Schuster, SVP and communications practice leader at Segal.

Segal Benz provides communications services across strategy development, custom website and portal design and buildout, focus group design and execution, and creation and delivery of campaigns across all communication channels.

“Segal Benz and Intactic share a passion for helping organizations increase employee engagement, which made the decision to join the Segal family incredibly easy,” said Preston Lewis, founder of Intactic, who joins Segal Benz as a senior vice president. “I look forward to driving measurable business goals for Segal’s current and future clients by modernizing internal communications.”

Segal was founded in 1939 and has more than 1,000 employees in the US and Canada. The firm has practices in health benefits consulting, commercial insurance brokerage services, retirement consulting, HR and benefits communications, compensation, and DEI consulting, among other areas.
