EY names Christy Baumann as San Antonio managing partner

EY has promoted Christy Baumann to office managing partner for San Antonio, Texas.
In her new role, Baumann will oversee a team of nearly 1,300 audit, tax, and consulting professionals across two San Antonio offices.
She succeeds Jeff Rummel, who is retiring on June 30 after a 37-year career with the Big Four accountancy. Rummel oversaw a significant expansion of the San Antonio market during his five-year leadership tenure, more than doubling EY's local headcount.
“Jeff is an incredible leader in every regard, and I’m looking forward to building on the momentum he's created in the city we both cherish,” said Baumann.
Baumann has spent the last 28 years in EY’s assurance practice. She most recently served as assurance leader and head of recruiting for the San Antonio office.
Baumann has master’s and bachelor’s degrees in accounting from Texas A&M University and is a certified public accountant.
She is a board member for Junior Achievement of South Texas and Texas A&M San Antonio Foundation, and formerly served as a board member for San Antonio Youth Literacy and Children’s Advocacy Center of Comal County.
"I know Christy will excel as the firm’s new leader in San Antonio,” Rummel said. “She has a long track record of delivering high-quality service for our clients, and her wide-ranging industry knowledge is precisely what’s needed as EY strengthens its investment in San Antonio and local businesses.”
