Investor Group Services appoints Matt Umscheid as CEO

Investor Group Services (IGS), a Boston-based private equity consulting firm, has hired Matt Umscheid as chief executive officer.

Umscheid is an operating executive with over 30 years of experience in new growth, internal transformation, restructuring, and M&A. He has industry expertise across healthcare, financial services, software, and business services.

Umscheid previously was CEO of Nuvem, a pharmacy and technology services company, and Envysion, a video SaaS company that was acquired by Motorola Solutions. Before that, he held senior leadership roles at Logisticare and Providence Service Corporation, a healthcare and human services company.

Earlier in his career, Umscheid spent nearly nine years at Parthenon Capital Partners, where he was director of strategy and implementation and worked with portfolio companies on due diligence and value creation.

He spent the first 12 years of his career in consulting, working as a manager in L.E.K. Consulting’s private equity, retail, and biotech practices and as a consultant at Arthur D. Little.

Umscheid has an MBA from Dartmouth College and a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Notre Dame.

Founded in 1998, IGS focuses on commercial due diligence and strategic advisory services for private equity and corporate clients. The firm’s offerings span growth strategy, pricing strategy and execution, go-to-market transformation, M&A due diligence, sell-side industry analysis, and integration support.

IGS has more than 50 employees, according to its website.

The firm is a portfolio company of Interlock Equity, which acquired it in December 2022.
