KPMG has elected Will Williams as chair of its Americas region, effective July 1, 2025.

Williams, who has been with KPMG since 1998, will succeed Paul Knopp, who has served as Americas chair and US CEO since 2020. Tim Walsh, currently US managing partner for audit, will succeed Knopp as CEO on July 1.

KPMG’s Americas region registered 4.2% revenue growth in fiscal year 2024 to reach $15.2 billion. KPMG Americas has approximately 62,000 employees.

“Will is a proven leader whose commitment to operational excellence and client service will continue the strong momentum we've achieved in executing our global strategy," said Knopp. "Our collective investments in areas such as AI, data and analytics, audit technologies and tax services are making the difference for our people and clients across the entire Americas Region."

Williams has since 2020 served as US vice chair for operations and COO for the Americas, overseeing critical operational areas such as technology, finance, and real estate, and ensuring effective delivery of services to clients.

Before that, he was US national managing partner for tax and national leader for economic and valuation services.

Williams has an MBA from the University of South Carolina and a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Furman University.

“I'm grateful to Paul for his leadership of the Americas Region, which has generated significant momentum in our collective efforts to enhance quality and drive innovation," said Williams. "Through KPMG's Collective Strategy, we are leveraging the strength of the Americas Region and investing in shared priorities, with an emphasis on AI. We are at a pivotal moment for our profession, and I look forward to working closely with leadership from our global and Americas member firms on creating the firm of the future that is innovative, agile and drives enhanced value to our clients."
