Global consulting firm Roland Berger has appointed Daniel Kubis and Erin Sowerby as partners in its Chicago office.

The German-origin strategy consultancy announced 16 partner and senior partner appointments at its biannual partner meeting on July 17.

Daniel Kubis is a member of Roland Berger’s automotive practice, where he provides consulting in growth strategy, operations, and transformation to clients across the value chain. He has particular expertise working with automotive suppliers.

Kubis has over 15 years of consulting and industry experience in manufacturing. He joined Roland Berger in 2018 as a senior consultant was named a principal in 2022.

Before that, he was a sales program manager at Filtration Group and a sales manager at Actuant Corporation.

Kubis has an MBA from Northwestern University and a bachelor’s degree in engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.

Erin Sowerby focuses on strategy and execution for energy and utilities, with expertise across EV charging infrastructure, renewable energy, and natural gas. She has advised utilities on integrating renewables, accelerating fleet electrification, and due diligence for energy infrastructure development.

Sowerby has more than 20 years of consulting and industry experience in energy. She joined Roland Berger in 2019 as a project manager and was named a principal in 2022.

Before that, she was a manager at Enovation partners, a principal at Thorndike Landing, and a managing consultant at Navigant Consulting (now Guidehouse). Earlier in her career, Sowerby was a senior analyst at Pace Global Energy Services and Sempra Energy.

She has a master’s degree in international business from UC San Diego and a bachelor’s degree in political science and economics from Hope College.

Roland Berger was founded in 1967 and has 3,500 people across 50+ global offices. The firm has approximately €1 billion in annual revenue.
