Newton hires Tony Ward as partner in retail practice
Newton, an Abingdon, UK-based strategy consulting firm, has hired Tony Ward as a senior partner in its retail and consumer goods practice.
Based in Chicago, Ward will spearhead the practice’s expansion in North America, bringing more than 30 years of experience in retail and consumer goods.
He joins Newton from EY, where he spent four years as a partner and North America supply chain leader for retail. Before that, Ward spent 15 years with Accenture/Kurt Salmon, where he was managing director – retail strategy.
Earlier in his career, Ward was a partner at Capgemini, where he worked on supply chain engagements in consumer products, retail, manufacturing, and hospitality.
He has a bachelor’s degree in transportation, logistics, and supply chain from the University of Tennessee.
“The North American consumer landscape is fiercely competitive, and the problems that businesses are facing are knotty and business-critical,” Ward said. “I can’t wait to work with the team to bring everything Newton does best to this new market, ensuring that Newton’s DNA is retained across every project, regardless of location.”
Newton’s retail and consumer goods practice works with global organizations to drive financial performance improvement, unlock new sources of revenue growth, and create sustainable value.
The British consultancy works with organizations in public sector, defense, infrastructure, and consumer industries on areas including performance improvement, operations, and supply chain.
Newton has more than 700 employees listed on LinkedIn and offices in the UK and Australia.
“This year, Newton has gone from strength to strength, and the growth and expansion of our consumer business is testament to the hard work and tenacity of the team,” said Wil Schoenmakers, who was earlier this year appointed global head of retail and consumer goods. “Tony’s skills, experience, and relationships, combined with that approach, puts us in the perfect position to take our growth to a new level in North America.”
Newton’s retail and consumer goods practice also recently welcomed Harmen van Os as a London-based partner.
