IBM to acquire SAP consultancy Cognitus
IBM has agreed to acquire Cognitus, a Dallas-based SAP consulting firm.
Founded in 2002, Cognitus is an SAP gold and co-innovation partner that works with clients in aerospace and defense, utilities, manufacturing, consumer products, professional services, and wholesale distribution.
The firm provides SAP S/4HANA services in digital transformation, assessment, implementation, cloud deployment, and M&A, among other areas.
Cognitus also provides a suite of proprietary, SAP-endorsed solutions, including for real-time project-based billing, government contract lifecycle management, and migration from legacy systems to S/4HANA.
Cognitus has more than 700 employees listed on LinkedIn.
IBM’s acquisition of Cognitus will bolster its ability to deliver SAP solutions to global clients, the Armonk, NY-based firm said in a press release.
"SAP is the foundation for so many digital transformations around the world," said Neil Dhar, managing partner, IBM Consulting Americas. "Cognitus brings deep industry expertise and proprietary AI technology that improves the efficiency of SAP implementations and will extend the functionality of tools across our SAP portfolio."
Pat Sathi, CEO of Cognitus, added, “Becoming part of IBM enables Cognitus to amplify what we do best – accelerating SAP transformation through innovation.”
IBM earlier this year acquired Hakkoda, a New York-based data and AI consulting firm with 350+ employees.
