Grant Thornton Advisors adds Puerto Rico, Brazil, and Poland firms
Grant Thornton Advisors this month added the Grant Thornton member firms for Puerto Rico, Brazil, and Poland.
New Mountain Capital in March 2024 acquired Grant Thornton US, the largest member firm of the Grant Thornton International network. Since then, the private equity firm has bolted on numerous firms, including various Grant Thornton country member firms.
As with most private equity purchases, Grant Thornton US was split into legally separate audit and consulting businesses. With each addition of a Grant Thornton country member firm, the non-attest services (consulting, tax) have joined Grant Thornton Advisors LLC but the audit businesses have remained separate and have not combined with Grant Thornton LLP, the US-based audit business.
In 2025, Grant Thornton Advisors has become a multinational, integrated consulting business. The 2025 bolt-ons include the Grant Thornton member firms for New Zealand, France, Spain, Belgium, Ireland, Netherlands, Luxembourg, Switzerland/Liechtenstein, Cayman, Channel Islands, and UAE.
Grant Thornton Advisors also this year added Stax, a Boston-based M&A consulting firm, and Auxis, a Fort Lauderdale, FL-based business process outsourcing firm.
The Poland acquisition expands Grant Thornton Advisors into Eastern Europe, while the Brazil deal grows the firm’s geographical presence in South America (previously bolstered by the Auxis acquisition). The Puerto Rico deal unifies the US territory team with the larger US consulting firm.
The deals boost Grant Thornton Advisors to 20,000 people in the Americas, Europe, Middle East, and Asia-Pacific.
Grant Thornton Puerto Rico has 200 people, Brazil has approximately 2,000 people and $80 million in annual revenue, and Poland has approximately 1,200 people and $70 million in annual revenue.
