SEI appoints Patrick Donegan as Philadelphia office head

SEI (Systems Evolution Inc.), a Cincinnati-headquartered management consulting firm, has appointed Patrick Donegan as managing director of its Philadelphia office.

Donegan, who has been with SEI for nearly 17 years, succeeds John Tarczewski, who has led the office since its launch in 2020. Tarczewski will continue at SEI as a principal consultant supporting local clients.

“John has been a foundational leader for SEI Philadelphia and a trusted partner to so many of our clients,” said Donegan. “His work opened the doors, built the team, and positioned the office for the long-term success we’re building on today.”

SEI was founded in 1992 has over 600 employees across 13 US markets advising clients on strategy and operations, risk and compliance, technology, innovation, and data.

Donegan joined the firm in 2009 as a consultant, was named a principal in 2011 and then a managing director in 2016. He has more than 20 years of experience in consulting, with expertise in digital transformation, M&A, and human capital transformation.

Since 2022, Donegan has served as chief strategy officer, leading initiatives to modernize SEI’s technology platform and strengthen business development capabilities. He also previously launched and built the firm’s Washington, DC office.

Prior to SEI, Donegan was a senior strategy consultant at State Street and a managing consultant at IBM.

He has a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Georgetown University.
